How do I search the website for a book or author?
It couldn’t be simpler. If you know the title or author of the book in question, simply type it into the search bar, and you will be given a list of suggestions. Click on any one of these suggestions to view full title information.
If you would rather browse, there are several ways to do so. If you would like to browse by author, click on the Authors option on the left hand side, which will allow you to browse our authors alphabetically. If you would like to browse by series, please click on the Series and Editions option. If you would prefer to browse by subject, use the menu on the left hand side, where you will be able to browse by relevant categories and subcategories; each category will take you to a list of relevant books.
How do I order online?
Once you have found the correct book, simply click the Add to Basket button. Yale's shopping cart will then open in a separate tab. If you would like to continue shopping you can remain on the website and continue adding more items. Once you have finished, check to make sure all your items are listed in the shopping cart, then proceed to the checkout, where you will be asked for your address and credit card details. If you want to save time in the future, or you wish to track your order, you can create a user account. You will need to supply an email address and password.
How do I order a catalogue?
If you would like to view our seasonal, art and history catalogues, visit our Catalogues page where you can view and download them in PDF format. If you would prefer a physical copy, simply fill in the online form and we’ll post one off to you as soon as possible.

How long will my book take to arrive?
Provided the book you are ordering is already published, it should take between 3 to 5 working days to reach you. If you are pre-ordering a book, it should arrive 3 to 5 working days after publication (publication dates are subject to change so please keep an eye on this website for any changes).
Additionally, provided you have supplied an email address and password at our Shopping Cart, you can track your order and its shipping progress. To visit your account, click the link at the top of the page and enter your details.

How do I request permission to reproduce a picture from a Yale book?
Yale University Press does not normally hold the copyright to the images that are reproduced in our books. The copyright is usually owned by the artist, photographer, museum or picture agency that supplied the image to us. In order to obtain permission to reproduce an image you will need to contact the copyright holder directly. To find this information you should check the photograph credits or image captions.
