Higgins is the Edward Tuck Professor of French Studies Emerita at Dartmouth College. Her books include New Novel, New Wave, New Politics: Fiction and the Representation of History in Postwar France; Rape and Representation (coedited with Brenda Silver); and Bertrand Tavernier.
