John Henderson is Professor of Italian Renaissance History in the Department of History, Classics and Archaeology, Birkbeck, University of London; Research Professor, Monash University, Melbourne; and Emeritus Fellow, Wolfson College, University of Cambridge. He has published widely on renaissance and early modern Italy and monographs include: Piety and Charity in Late Medieval Florence (Oxford UP, 1994; Chicago UP, 1997); The Great Pox.
