Further help with using PLSClear for Permissions

When using PLS Clear for your permission requests to reuse material from Yale University Press books, please remember to follow these two important steps when on the PLS Clear website.
1. Choose 'Title Search' in the Search drop-down menu when searching for the book title.
2. Click the 'Show participating titles only' switch to the right (off and grey) to guarantee a view of all Yale University Press titles. (Some of our titles may not be set up in PLS Clear as participating titles, but you can still send a request even if they are not.)
This configuration is shown in the image above.
For more help when using PLS Clear, you can refer to the service’s FAQs here.

Image Permissions

If you are requesting permission to reproduce an illustration, figure or photograph from one of our books, and its caption indicates a source other than Yale University Press (i.e. ‘Alamy’; ‘British Library’; ‘Museé du Louvre’), it is highly unlikely that we will hold the rights to grant permission for its reuse.
We ask you to carefully check captions and credits, then consult the cited institution, library, museum, image bank, the publisher of the cited publication, etc., in the first instance.
